true. when you think about it, india do religiously invest in a sport where countries orders of magnitude smaller than them regularly dispatch them.

losing to england isn't even that bad. at least they're sort of a major nation on the global stage.

The shameless fraud should have been sacked after 2017 CT Final when he was laughing after such a disgraceful performance. Compare his reaction to that of our women hockey team in the Olympics.

The shameless fraud just before every important knockout games gives statement that this match doesn't matter or we lost because of 45 minutes performance.

Wish he leaves the team permanently and joins Bollywood and does fake PR .

India needs to make Pant the captain for next 20 20 world cup in a year time, the guy captain Delhi good in ipl. And i hope at least 6 players are removed from 20 20 team the likes of Rahual, Rohit Sharma, Suru Yadav, Shami, Jadeja, Bhuvi kumar.

Going forward, with T20s becoming more of a role based game than just skills, the team needs to figure out the type of players they want and the style of cricket they want to pursue. We could have won one of our two games at least had we played like we did in 2016. But we tried to play how we should have played back then in these conditions and failed. Ideally you dont want more than 2 bowlers who cant bat (even that is a bit of a luxury as you at least want them to be able to hit a long ball when needed) and you dont want more than 4 guys in the side who cant bowl.

1, Anchor type opener (Rohit)
2. Aggresive opener who is also the keeper (Ishan/Rahul)
3. Anchor cake batsman (Virat)
4. Batsman who can score quickly against spin and in the middle overs (SKY/Shreyas)
5. Batsman who can score fast and bowl (no readymade options - Dube/Shankar were tried - Sundar worth a go in ths role)
6. Batsman who can score fast and bowl (Hardik)
7. Batsman who can score fast and bowl (Jadeja)
8. Bowler who can hit a long ball (Shardul)
9. Bowler who can hit a long ball (Deepak Chahar)
10. Specialist Bowler (Bumrah)
11. Specialist Bowler (Chahal/Varun)

Such a squad gives the side options. If Sundar plays, then you have Chahar, Sundar, Bumrah and Shardul all of whom can bowl in the powerplay in different capacities. Then you can attack in the middle overs with the leggie/myster spinner and defend on the other side with Hardik and Jaddu. This also creates role clarity for all players invovled and is a decent line up to pick from. Unfortunately, we tend to go by social media pressure where after every Pant inning/Rahul inning/Ishan inning everyone asks, why are they not in the XI? The simple answer is T20 is much of a team and even squad game than the other formats.

I just have to point out that you can't 'no one cares' after the fact. It just screams of agonising butt hurt. To be taken seriously, you have to do it long beforehand.

There are always fans who only care when we win. Fortunately, that is not most of us in the Indian fandom on CW at least. :)
