Faf will be looked back upon like a Damien Martyn - no way an all time great in the format, but was a very good player.

faf, finch, khawaja, hales, roy, head and probably dhawan won't be looked at as ATGs by the end of their careers imo.

Can't agree with dhawan given his ICC record, he is like jesse lingard at wembley in icc tournaments, average player but will always be remembered fondly for his big game contributions.

Great ODI players at the moment - Kohli, Root, Warner, Smith, Amla
Very good ODI players at the moment - Rohit, Dhawan, QDK, Faf
Good/Above average ODI players at the moment - Hales, Roy, Finch, Head, Khawaja

I think Kohli as an ATG by the time he finishes his career is a given.

Root, Smith, Warner should get there too. Don't know if Amla will get there given his sub par performances when it 'matters'.

QDK should potentially get there but he is still at such an early stage in his career, too early to make a comment on ATG status tbh.

Dhawan - will go down as a very very good ODI opener, given his ICC achievements. Avg 44 SR 90 is not an average player by any means

The rest - No

I got pelted with abuse for saying England were over hyped, and lo and behold, England were over hyped.

What was overhyped though was our bowling attack imo. Looked toothless in a lot of the games for long periods. All those run outs against SA and Jadhav helped cover up some of the cracks. Bhuvi was outstanding though and Yadav/Bumrah had decent games and 1 crap outing. each.

Indian attack was quite balanced. Had a fairly bit if variety and were generally quite accurate. A more attacking bowler probably needed in periods where containment didn't work but overall the attack was very good.

India and England were not over hyped. They still are the 2 best teams on paper.
Shame for them then that it wasn't the ICC Champions Trophy of Armchair Cricket then, they'd have walked it! :D

But seriously I laughed before the tournament at suggestion England are/were favourites, and now they're the only team of ENG, PAK, IND, AUS, NZL, SAF and SRL not to win this competition - or the World Cup for that matter, let's pencil them in as favourites for every ODI competition from now and forever.

I think the problem is England have some high profile names and they don't always perform, not as consistently as you need in knockout competitions anyway. Wasn't until this tournament we saw how good Pakistan's bowling unit is, definitely better than India's, and apart from cracking under pressure facing 300+ from India and not having batted 1st in the tournament, Pakistan hadn't done much to suggest they couldn't win it.

Of course India might have won it had they batted 1st, psychological advantage flushed down the dunny and the chance to put a big score on the board and Pakistan under pressure down with it. Real shame was none of the semis and the final were close games, did like the excusism coming out of the England camp when Pakistan humbled them though

In this league,India is the most balanced team. They have all the wepons in their kit bags.It starts from the great batting line up & finishes with the best bowling line up India have ever got.Young legs will add extra advantages on their fielding, though the match against Pak was an exceptional one.Only S.Africa& Australia(yes, its Aus,instead of England, because of having an ordinary bowling line up)are seemed to be compilible with this team.On 20th June, its gonna be V.k to lift first icc trophy of his carrer.
Cricinfo called. They want their stereotypical comment in the comments section back.
