Apparently you mustn't say that because it offended the Croats last time around.
Oh let's not start that one again, FTR I can see why it annoys other nations, and TBH we fared pretty badly for annoying them, but in the end, the song is of plaintive hope over continued failure. It's easy to sing too, which is why it is sung, unlike the superior "World in Motion" which isn't really a terrace chant.

It's either that or Vindaloo, and despite hating myself for it, I'll probably sing along to that with a few beers in me.

It's an absolute classic. ATG football anthem.

It makes me feel old to think that we're only 5 years off a further 30 years of hurt since they initially sang about 30 years of hurt.

Fancy England and the Croats to qualify, whether either of the other two sides get through, who knows.

Well, Trent out, interesting that it's pretty much a meh ATM, whilst if it had happened when the Tournament was meant to take place, it may have caused wholesale gnashing of teeth.

Be interesting who he calls up, as so much as it will show what his plans for TAA were, my thought it was probably as an attacking option of the bench. So wouldn't be surprised if Southgate put in an attacker.

I suspect Ward-Prowse in, Kalvin Phillips coming back from an injury, Henderson even more so coming back from an injury. I was surprised he didn't make the initial squad as I think England will go with 2 more defensively solid, deeper midfielders in every game if they have a back 4 and he is pretty versatile, has played fullback for Southampton in a back 4 (although not so sure if he's played at wingback in a 5 which might be more relevant if Maguire is out for much of the tournament)

Yeah, I think Lingard is just unlucky that we have players in the squad that just does what he does but much better, mind you not sure sterling does aTM, but that's another argument. JW-P does give us a different option, and ***eh free kicks. Good for the inevitable Pen shoot-out too...

Beckham despite being a set piece specialist never found him as an effective penalty taker. Don't think those 2 are correlated

It was a joke really, about the inevitability of pens in England matches, but JW-P 10-3 isn't awful, not great though admittedly.

Beckham only missed one though, think there were generally other players in his teams more hungry for goals, be it Ronaldo or Shearer.

Ben White called up. Surprising, maybe that’s more a reflection of Tyrone Mings’s friendly performances than anything else.

I'm a wee bit surprised Connor Goldson doesn't seem to have been mentioned at all for a call up.

Do you mean only one in shootouts? He missed against Turkey in qualifiers then France in the Euros?
