Not until after World War One did he actually gain prominence depsite having joined the staff in 1903.
Retired in 1935.
Between 1920 and 1935 took over 100 wickets per season.
In five seasons this haul went over 200 wickets.
He acheived 6 hat-tricks.
Took all 10 wickets for 79 against Somerset in 1921
IN 1925 destroyed Essex when in the two innings he took 17 wickets for 56 runs.
Indeed his total haul puts him in a very high class of bowler.
Despite all this only played One Test for England (go ask the selectors)
Well I would go and ask 'em but they're all dead.
Any mediums on this forum??
