For us, Langer-Hayden is an obvious one as it is an opening partnership but the partnership that really, really stands out for me is Ponting-Hayden. Both astonishingly destructive batsmen at their respective peaks, which happily for Australian fans coincided for about four-five years. Result: 4700+ runs, 16 century and 22 half century stands with a partnership average of 67.

Here it is actually...

Mohammad Yousuf-Younis Khan 24 Innings 2358 runs at 107.18....since 2005 7 hundred partnerships and 8 fifty partnerships......

As per the article the best pair since 2005..qualification of 1000 runs or more...
Statsguru shows full partnership record:
Mohammad Yousuf-Younis Khan ; 42 Inn, 3137 runs at 78.42, 9 century stands.

Oh how Pakistan could do with some of that partnership scoring now ;)

Would be good to find out who batted well with the tail in tests. Could be Gilly or Imran Khan in the top spot.

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
Hussey would be up there. Partnerships with McGrath and Siddle were match-winning.

Hussey probably one of the best tail shepherders I've seen. Partly because of his ODI skill, makes him unusually good at picking up a single exactly when he needs one.

But the best is obviously Steve Smith
