Fundraising/Cricket Memorabilia Questions

Hi, I'm a legally blind fan (I have glaucoma too so one day I'll lose the rest of my sight) with big dreams and bigger medical bills for me and my guide dog. I reached out to some teams for help as I've been struggling lately, and the Sydney Thunder graciously provided me with a bat sleeve signed by their entire BBL05 team, including Michael Hussey, Jacques Kallis, Andre Russell, Shane Watson etc:, so I can attach it to a bat and hopefully sell it for funds. I have a couple of questions about it though, which hopefully people here will know:

1.) What would the value of something like this be?

2.) What do you think the best and most profitable way to present this item for sale would be?

Thanks so much. I apologise if this isn't the best subforum to post this.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Can't imagine what it must be like.

Maybe try out your local cricket clubs and hold an auction there? They may even have some event lined up where some former cricketers show up to attract crowds.

One of the clubs near mine had an event during the 2013 Ashes where former players had an exhibition T20 match. Flintoff, Akram, Katich, Martyn, Thommo, Cork, Caddick, Nannes and a few others had shown up.

Before the match, there was this huge marquee tent set up. I managed to sneak in (to get some selfies), but it seemed like it was an invite only lunch. They held an auction for cricket memorabilia, and the bidders were extremely generous (and presumably very financially well off). That could provide a better trade off for you rather than eBay.

There's a guy called Rick Milne who used to have a column about sporting memorabilia in Australia. I think he might be contactable on the web about a rough idea on value.

With all due respect to *****, who is not normally found wanting in the wisdom department, eBay would be the worst way to go about selling what you are describing
