Favourite World Series moments.

Not sure if there's already a thread for this, but I was wondering which World Series cup moments/matches really stick out in your memory. To clarify, I'm talking about the World Series cup/tri-series that operated in Australia from 1980 until the mid to late 00's. Not Packer cricket.

My favourite: Mr Cool, MSD, helping India to a tie with Sri Lanka in 2012. This result helped India reach the final & was possibly the best exhibition of death overs batting I've seen. The atmosphere during that match was electric & Dhoni couldn't have scripted his innings any better.

On a side note, wasn't it cool how back in the day all of the touring teams were kitted out in similar uniforms? Which uniform was your favourite? Personally, I liked the "Venetian blinds" design they had in the mid-90's.

Even RSA wearing predominately red seemed to work for some reason.

Whatever it takes!!!
Lara took a brilliant catch in the series either in 95 or 96 and Tony Greig went "And the little Prince has taken a little gem". Dunno why but that solidified Lara as the greatest ever in my 11 or 12 year old mind.

Bevan getting Australia home at the SCG vs the Windies was awesome. So was the underarm ball.

Parore played an absolutely underrated gem there. I remember watching the highlilghts later that night coz we checked the score at lunch and felt that RSA will win easily. Cairns made 60 odd off 50 odd balls and they showed him hitting a few 4s and 6s and they showed like 1 boundary that Parore hit and then we see the scorecard at the end of the game and he had 60+ off 30 or 40 odd balls. What a knock it was.

Just had a quick rummage through my book collection. Managed to stumble across an old coaching book released by Trevor Chappell back in the mid 80s

Loved a bit of banter. Remember he got pelted with some chicken at the MCG but can't remember if it was in the tests or World Series.

England usually only participated after a disastrous Ashes Tour and were usually pants. However one outstanding memory was Allan Lamb taking 18 off the final over from Bruce Reid to win a match on 1986/87 tour.

I have a lot of fond post-event memories from India's B&H win in 1985, mostly from reading Sandeep Patil's Sandy Storm as a kid. Bevan's knock was of course legend. Also, weren't there a couple of editions when Australia and Australia A played in the same tournament? That was a little surreal.

To be fair, that was an Ashes series that England won.
