So the latest spin is about how the poor english players have been suffering from a muktitude of matches which has put them at their nerves endd.

apparently stats say they have played a total of 14 internationals since Oct till 15 feb.

Team records | Combined Test, ODI and T20I records | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPN Cricinfo

This puts them at no. 6 among all nations. / whsats abt the excuses huh!
No point to this thread, except to WUM. But I'll bite. What excuses are these, non of the players have made excuses or the fans, but the fact is Andy Flower said before the tour started, playing 7ODi's after the tests wasn't the right preparation for a WC in the sub continent and it has been talked and written about since the 90's, but hopefully that was the last time.
I don't see what your problem is , the fact is, they have been on the road, bar 3 days, since the end of October, if you don't see that as a problem, you obviously have a agenda.
Pakistan have played 4 tests in that time, 2 tests then 2 months later 2 more and in between their 2 tours they went home for a month and they've been playing cricket since 26th December, quite a bit different to England. There's no doubt they have it hard, playing their games away from home and are having a great WC.
The amount of injuries speaks volumes about the last few months and the amount of cricket that's been played without time to relax and recover.

The fact is I've not heard a player or a fan claim England would have won this WC, if it wasn't for the schedule but the fact is, it has been a problem since the 90's and now hopefully something will be done about it.
Well you do admit Pakistan has also been touring since Dec. Also blaming injuries on the tight schedule is a bit rich, considering how a player like Broad has played during the winter

Further, a team like India has also been on road throughout. It is not as if Sachin is playing at Mumbai, taking a sleep over at his home this wc. They all have been away. English players were allowed to bring in their families iirc during the ashes

God forbid a cricket teams' fans speculating about why the team played badly on a cricket forum. Disgusting behaviour. Just trying to find "excuses". They should all shut up about their team or anything else they might be interested in. And change their avatar to the India flag.

Pakistan played their first game on the 26th December, England had their first tour match on the 5th November, still not comparable. The fact is there is no excuses, but they are changing this schedule so that it doesn't happen during a WC year and it obviously doesn't help with preparation. The families came for the last couple of test they weren't allowed before that. Your just reaching now, bringing the Indian side into it. Like I said no point to this, except for Wumming.

Lol.

Troll much?

I think logic would suggest that playing a test of (a possible) 5 days duration is more of an effort than an ODI or a T20, yes?

Our chaps who've played in the Ashes, subsequent limited overs series and world cup have been away from home for 5 months. That's not an excuse, that's a fact. If it wasn't an issue we wouldn't be looking at changing the scheduling of the next Ashes.

Chances are it wouldn't have made much difference because we're not a very good ODI outfit, but having all our players blowing out their arses hasn't helped either.

Like I said in the other thread:

Name a series other than the Ashes in the last 5 years which has seen the touring side play 5 Tests, 3 3-day First Class games and 1 4-day First Class game in the space of 2 months.

The floor is all yours.

For the record, gfb, India completed their entire Sa tour in 37 days or so, with 3 tests, 5 odis and 2 t20s. thats 2 tests and 2 odis shorter than eng, but then eng had like wat 9o days?

Why are you finding it hard to understand, silly question really, that being away from home for 37 days isn't the same as 5 months and all those other teams, got to spend time at home, during the time England were away. England, like as already been said, played 4 extra first class matches and a extra one day game, but hey don't let that get in the way.

Isn't it funny how the convenient starting point for bun's **** argument is mid-december...yeah sure, ignore the 6 weeks prior.

This discussion has already been ongoing in the match thread, there's no need to start another. Especially if it's just to bait people.

Also, if people have the opinion that it's trolling, just ignore the thread. If you come into the thread and react, all that a troll will do is post more threads the same to wind you up!
