England Now vs England in late 1990's

total lack of players able to represent England playing county cricket at the moment.. They need to decide if County Cricket is going to be an entity (and a business) in it's own right (a la Premier league football), or a feeder for the national team.. At the moment it's just a mish mash of the two
The problem is, test cricket aside, a typical crowd at an English game tends to number me and Pickup, you (when you're not swanning around in SA) and about 3 others.

Whereas in the Prem, even my rubbish at Derby County average over 31000.

I think Derby's main problem is their training pitch.
