Drains or spoons?

LT name the thing you most regret ever trying to wash down the drain (that wasn't a spoon)

Does Drain's do a full english with a pint for £8?

Shri moment?
Not sure what that means but it was an activity as a primary school kid where we all brought ice cream toppings, and the facilitators took a hollowed-out, cleaned drain pipe and filled it with ice cream.

We collectively added our toppings and ate.

Rather unhygienic and weird, but I believe that was meant to be the allure.

I need to know whether the drains are on fire first.

So you drink soup straight from the bowl then?
Sure. Or drink it from a cup. Spoons are useless. When you're out living in the wild after the apocalypse, you're not going to fashion yourself a spoon. You'll get a couple of sharp pointy sticks and a bowl.

Spoons are frivolous and only exist as some sort of symbol of being civilised.
This is the most un-asian thing you have ever posted. What a fraud.
Chopsticks are the most useful utensil. That, a sharp blade, and clean hands are all you need to eat any meal on earth.

What nonsense. How do you transfer liquid stuff from bowl to mouth without using hands (which I think is acceptable) or slurping direct from the bowl (also acceptable in certain cases)? You literally can't eat hot liquids like soup without a spoon.

how the **** do you drink your cup of chai every morning?

spoons are unnecessary and only exist because people think slurping from a bowl is icky. But surprise, you don't have to drink soups and liquids from a bowl. Cups exist. Cup noodles are a thing.

Chopsticks (or forks for those of you that lack dexterity) at least serve the purpose of letting you pick up a piece of food without using your hands, or pick out a piece of food from a pile of food. It also serves to get food from a bowl into your mouth.

A ladle is useful to pour liquid from a shared bowl into your own personal drinking vessel, but a ladle is literally just a bowl on a handle. A smaller bowl to transfer liquid from a bigger bowl into your smaller bowl/cup. That's it. They are all bowls. Spoons are ****ing useless.

And a spoon is perfectly sized to fit the average human mouth. Slurping from a bowl is fine, but comes with an increased risk of spillage. How do you feed a baby without a spoon?

Every real asian on earth preaches about how rice should be eaten with a spoon. Zorax showing his inadequacies even more than usual with his performance in this thread.

i didn't realise you spilt your coffee on yourself every morning whilst trying to drink it.

the spoon as a utensil to feed people who can't feed themselves is acceptable. The same goes for a straw - it's great if you're handicapped.

i'll even give you this concession - if you like your oats, or your khichidi, or any similar food, at that texture where it's too thick to drink but too runny to use a chopstick/fork, and you're too squeamish to use your hands to eat it, then a spoon is useful. But that's a very niche application. Far too niche to make this utensil worthwhile.
