Sorry guys I've come down with a vicious fever. Have been in and out of sleep for a day and absolutely knackered so couldn't finish this
I'm sorry to hear this dear little bro. Please drink take a dose of Nyquil and get some rest. Sweat it out. Make some of that hot masala chicken noodle soup.

Here's an attempt. Try to find an opener with a peak of 15 Tests who goes a bit better than Barlow and you're golden I think. Anyone else want to chip in with that one?

Lillee has an average of 23, which is a bit higher than you'd like perhaps, but he does take up that 55 Tests slot, which is tricky to fill anyway.

Thanks so much for this. De Kock (24 Jul 2014 to 24 Jan 2020) is a better time period, so I'll take that instead. I also want a bit more bowling so I'll take Trevor Goddard over Barlow. Final side:

@Teuton: Correction needed: Prior played 56 matches between those dates.
Whoops - those dates were mixed up from a Watling 45 match peak I was considering.
Anyway i just wanted his first 45 tests which those listed stats were from.
corrected dates are therefore: 17/5/07 - 29/07/11
