seconding nasser hussain. kinda embarrassed for the forum its taken this long. one of the greatest captains theres ever been. i think its forgotten too often now where england came from under his regime.

I was gonna say, nominating 64 captains probably nominates every captain to have captained, ever.

But then I remembered, England probably used about 64 captains in the 80s/early 90s.

I had a look at him when studying the early 1900 captains.... but he apparently never captained his country in 45 tests. The moniker 'grand old man of south african cricket' makes it seem like he was a captain... maybe he was just an old guy in the team for a long time
