What a round. We only kept 1 out of the 3 aussies, Richie Benaud of all people who I honestly didn't know was rated so highly as a captain

Brearley the man with the degree in people, the specialist captain, is gone. As is Clive Lloyd who I would have expected to win based on reputation before the series started. If not him, then maybe Border. Anyway, here we are!

it's also funny seeing Bradman legitimately lose out in something related to quality(not quantity) in cricket.

The only person I literally had to leave out of one of these because he was objectively the best at batting, its funny how it's pretty close but no cigar here. Gives a human element to his cricket skill

In Tom Graveney's book "The 10 Greatest Test Teams" (which considers 10 of the best teams in the 40 years after the war), 5 of the teams were captained by players listed above (obviously not Jardine and it was a bit too early for Border and Imran's teams). Graveney ranks their captaincy as follows:

1. Richie Benaud
2. Mike Brearley
(3. Ian Chappell)
4. Don Bradman
5. Clive Lloyd
6. Frank Worrell
