State Vice-Captain
Yep. Do need 5 bowlers now, with SRT, Richards, and Bevo as back up.

I would like to vote Imran.

Lance Kluesener.

For an all-time one-day team, I'd have both Botham and Imran, but coming in at 8&9 - why stint ourselves.

I must qualify why Kapil since I consider Imran one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of the game.

Kapil was a better bowler at the death as well as overall was more economical for the one day format. His bowling a maiden (or was it one run) over and avoiding defeat by 1 run in the last over of a county game is just one of the many such stories.

More importantly, though, in batting he suffers in average in comparison to Imran with an 23.8 against 33.4, its his rate of scoring that makes him so invaluable at that place in the order.

Much before the era of 400 or around runs came upon us, Kapil scored at a staggering 95.1 runs per 100 balls over an 18 year career starting in 1874 (the fact that it was 32 years ago is very relevant)

Imran at 72.6 was sedate by comparison.

PS : For those who are interested the economy rates of Kapil and Imran in ODI's are 3.70 and 3.72 although that is NOT why I said Kapil was better at death. :) The difference is not glaring.

PLUS Kapil was a brilliant all round fielder while Imran was at best a decent one.
