Number 6 is next up. This will be interesting to see the type of player people go for.

Voting runs until this time tomorrow.

Sobers. The easiest pick after Bradman.

Forgot to vote for 3,4,5. I am fine with Sachin and Lara though I would have given serious consideration to Hammond for his bowling.

Hammond would be highly unlikely to bowl in a world XI any way.

International Coach
Kieth Miller, hands down a better bowler than Sobers, just as good in the field, and if he did not have to open the bowling would have finished with an average of 50+

Although I am happy for Sobers to win the spot :)

Maybe. However I would probably pick both Murali and Warne along with two quicks. So an extra medium pace option apart from Sobers might still be useful.

While i dont intend to dispute your choice, i was wondering, since Sobers isnt selected yet (and neither has a wicket-keeper), do you intend on leaving Sobers out or go with Sobers as the allrounder fulfilling the role of the 4th bowler ?

Jdz

School Boy/Girl Cricketer
Ricky Ponting, averages 56 (I think), consistantly scores a good amount of runs.

Yeah after Sobers gets picked we still need a keeper and 4 bowlers so it will be interesting to see who is going to get in.

Allan Border. Adds a bit of grit to an otherwise glitzy (:p) lineup. Without a doubt put the highest price on his wicket of any batsman in the modern era. Could roll his arm over too (Bowling average only 5 more than Sobers!).

Surely you dont think that Border was a comparable bowler to Sobers........
:-O
