Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

State Captain
website is whining about my adblocker which is a shame because id like to see the comments before mentioning he's always been a giant melt since crying about cricket being a game played on grass pitches in 2002.

the weakest man to captain india.
Some of his comments:

"I feel we Indians are a bit more tolerant than overseas (cricketers). I've played with a lot of Englishmen, Australians, West Indians, they just give up on mental health," the former India captain said at a virtual promotional event.

Ganguly further cited the example of the Australia cricket team who pulled out of their tour to South Africa following their defeat to India at home.

"Look at the Australian team, they were supposed to go to South Africa for a Test series after India played there. They refused to go there...

"And always there's this scare of COVID. 'Hope it's not me the next time'. You have to stay positive, you have to train yourself mentally. All of us have to train ourselves mentally so that the good will happen. It boils down to training." .

Didn’t realise he’d played the IPL for 10 years. Can’t really recall a single performance of his in that time.

The Faridabad Fixers are looking strong on paper. But it will take a bit to knock off the Bangalore Blackmailers or the Corrupt XI Chennai

Anyone else think old Pollock looks like old Chris Gayle? Not the shot selection, but the modus operandi... really similar. CBF to move, just bludgeon the ball.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
This was how fast the New Zealand speed gun, which tended to register markedly slower than those used elsewhere (say, SA) thought Chris Lewis was bowling in 1992.

According to a Cricinfo report on a section of play in the 93/94 series where reverse swing suddenly appeared (as it often did with Wasim and Waqar before greater scrutiny was applied), speeds recorded were Wasim: 126, 129 km/h, Waqar: 130, 135, 138, 135, 133, 133 km/h. Another speed from Waqar about that time was 133 km/h for his ball that bowled Brian Young.

A long time ago there were highlights of an ODI against India in the same general period. The speed gun must have been set very near the middle of the pitch, or nearer the batsmen's end. Kapil Dev's first ball was recorded at 94 km/h and later he bowled 102, while Dion Nash (possibly from the other end) was recorded at 119 km/h.
