Cricket Expansion Draft

Hey all, I was listening to an NBA podcast which helped me create the idea.

Basically I am looking for 4 people to be an expansion country who will enter the test and ODI arena in 2019. There are 12 Test playing nations now so I am going to ban 11 players from each country. The 4 draftees will be required to pick 2 players from each country (so a squad of 24 to play Tests and ODIs)

Once I get the 4 players keen to play I will work out the 11 banned players and post them here. Only cricketers who have played in a Test or ODI in the year 2018 can be picked (and banned). The obiect of the game is to pick the best team (you will all need to name your Test and ODI XIs) and select a country.

When picking your players I'm looking for the best overall teams who are good on 1 Jan 2019 but the squad most likely to sustain success over say the next 2-3 years.

While I am working out the banned players, feel free to nominate which country you want to be. Try and pick a semi realistic country, if you can

So again the players you select for the duration of the draft must have played a match between 1 Jan and 15 Sep 2018 to be included. No one who debuts while the draft is on is able to be picked.

I will now chose the banned players. I am definitely picking valuable players to be banned, but it doesn't necessarily mean that all 11 players are the absolute best players from that country.

A reminder: Retired players aren't going to come out of retirement and the player you select must have played in 2018. Players injured/banned current situation should be taken into account, but while the aim is to have a decent side 1 Jan 2019, you should be trying to build the best team over the next 2-3 years.
