It creates a new interesting statistical anomaly for people interested in that sort of stuff. Is this the first time a team has had 12 players participate in a test match, statistically? I feel like there was an occasion once in an Eng/Aus test where a keeper was injured very early and the opposing captain allowed a substitute, but I could be wrong.
