Concussion substitutes and statistical records

The concussion sub is a smart move and Labuschagne being able to bat instead of Smith risking his health for the sake of the team obviously makes sense.

Just curious about statistical records. Labuschagne's cricinfo profile now shows the Lords test as his last played. It creates a new interesting statistical anomaly for people interested in that sort of stuff. Is this the first time a team has had 12 players participate in a test match, statistically? I feel like there was an occasion once in an Eng/Aus test where a keeper was injured very early and the opposing captain allowed a substitute, but I could be wrong.

There was an occasion in a Test in England in the mid 80’s - I think against New Zealand - where England were allowed a substitute specialist wicket keeper (shared by Taylor and Parks). But it was at the discretion of the opposing captain and they were just recorded as any other sub fielder would be.

Norwood's on Fire
Manou for Haddin in 2009.
Suspect that is the one he was thinking of but the injury happened between the toss and the start of play. England could have said no to the change but obviously we are above such shenanigans here

Manou kept really well but got out to an absolute diamond from Jimmy as I recall

This might be what I remember reading about. I think Taylor was a fair way into retirement and either watching or commentating on the match before being pulled into the action. But yeh, maybe he was just a sub fielder who was allowed to keep.

Imran Khan request Tendulkar before his test debut to Field for Pakistan in Bombay india, years ago.Even test keeper or Fielder allow to Fields but Labu was only one who bats,I do not know why Paine not give him bowling
Koz anil kumble told in IndiaAccording the new rules Concussion Sub allow to Bats and Bowls too.

Some tricky rules I guess
First they have to figures out
For how long since Smith out
Of game? Kumble told but I do not listen.

Roy was badly hits on his neck on Aug 22 so they did C test to roy and also includes Pope forLeeds test for safety.
I bet Pope will play in 5th test
