Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
I didn't have the time to do this but an interesting idea so have shamelessly pinched this from a mate who has more time on his hands than I do

With the exception of Crowe a dogged rather than stylish side, probably stronger in batting than bowling

Anyone got the inclination to do any other years?

Those missing out: Len Maddocks, Javed Akhtar, JE Pothecary, Lindsay Tuckett (jr), Ranji Nanan and Israr Ali .

Handy base for a team. Sadly.

.... and Ken Graveney as well of course - never played Tests but good enough to get all 10 in a Championship match

As a rugby fan also, I still in shock that the two best players of the 95 RWC (Jonah Lomu and Joost van der Westhuizen) are no longer with us. Ruben Kruger died a few years ago too.

Also Sid O'Lynn from South Africa. Lucky enough to play test cricket for South Africa as an after thought after a decent football career in England with Charlton Athletic where he left South Africa with Stuart Leary and Eddie Firmani !

A more detailed piece. Quotes from Wisden and more on his Charlton & Kent CCC careers.

Tell me about it.

Our rugby channel has been non-stop tributes for Joost van der Westhuizen. So many memories.

The one documentary is Jonah Lomu : Back to South Africa' (20 years after 1995). Can't find the full version but got the trailer and his final stop to see Joost. Jonah passed on a few months after that and now Joost.

Here is just the Lomu & Joost part. That famous tackle and don't forget Joost had a broken rib from the SF that was taped up and had 7 injections.

There is a weekly Sunday Current Affair Programme in SA called Carte Blanche and I remember watching it for Clive Rice where they travelled with Clive to India for that specialised treatment and all seemed well and he suddenly died not long after. It was a long battle with cancer tbf and he kept fighting.

There isn't much footage of him on the Net even his great Notts/Mean Machine days

Other Test cricketers who died in 2015 (from the list at cricketarchive) include Fred Ridgway and John Dewes of England; Arthur Morris and Lindsay Kline of Australia; Steve Camacho, Richard Austin, Charran Singh and Basil Williams of West Indies; Hemant Kanitkar of India; Trevor Barber, Mike Shrimpton and Peter Petherick of New Zealand.

England lost almost a whole XI in 2011 (if not a balanced one): Allan Watkins, Martin Horton, Basil D'Oliveira, Trevor Bailey, Fred Titmus, Eddie Leadbeater, Graham Dilley, Roy Tattersall, Peter Loader.

Adding in players from other countries gives the following team for 2011:

Allan Watkins
Joey Carew
John Waite+
Sam Loxton
Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi*
Basil D'Oliveira
Trevor Bailey
Fred Titmus
Terry Jenner
Graham Dilley
