Best players of spin in 21st century

One of the few English players who played better on the subcontinent and in Australia than England, born in the wrong country?
Yes remember nasser saying that cook was best player of anything above the hip in english team also was tough nut to get when he played against us(india) esp 2012 tour respect to sir cook🙂

Root comes to mind straight away. Not as sure on smith vs spin after this last series in india, was clueless. Rohit's also a good shout. Wonderful record in some turgid home conditions when noene else was making runs for india.

Molehill

International Captain
In a similar vein to Cook, could Khawaja be considered too? I know he padded his stats on those flat Pakistani surfaces, but did ok versus India as well.

Oh, and Jayawardene obviously too.

Sehwag and then daylight IMO. Could do anything anyone else could, but put the fear of the Lord Almighty into the opposition while he did it.

Tom Latham has to be an option. Unfortunately he really struggles against pace and swing which is a prerequisite for an opener.
