Battle of the shots

Good idea for a thread.

Three absolutely glorious shots from M D Crowe off Akram in this short clip.... The cover drives at 0:09 & 0:34 are scrumptious, followed by a vicious pull-stroke at 0:44.

Edit: Robelinda must have put some kind of block on some of his videos posted on forums, unless I posted it incorrectly. :/ The direct you tube link is .. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AakR_--8OeQ

I'll add a couple more:

This Barry Richards straight drive off Dennis Lillee:

and the six by Chris Cairns at 4:24 in this innings. Never seen anything like it before or since

Wow that was fantastic. Wish the highlights had included a replay. Also looks like a great Test match by the scorecard.

Afridi might be among the least cerebral or elegant batsmen of all time but this shot is pretty much the reason why kids choose to play cricket.

And who can forget this legendary Nidahas winning shot? Bangladesh cricket team is wounded within and they will seek revenge in the next edition of Nidahas spitting cobra warfare.

I'd like to nominate the Shahid Afridi drive over extra cover for six. Specifically, the one at 1:37:

This video is gold, Afridi has hit so many ridiculous sixes in his career. Loads of fun to watch.
Scary thing is I don't think he's middled most of them. Bat speed is just phenomenal

Quite a few of mine aren't on YT, unfortunately. Big props to Orthdox for the Blewwy and Herb love.

That said:

I was at the ground for this game. All I'd seen up to this point was ball beating the bat, Ambrose and Bishop were threatening to wreck the Aussies in some overcast conditions when Slats is like, nah ****, have a catch to the guy in row ZZZ. Peak Slater.

The whole post-100 stuff was amazing but the little flick at 4:40 was just shocking.

Birth of the Lara hip-flick at 1:28. Ridiculous shot for the time, probably still only certain players who do it.

Marty Love with unfair amounts of time to play a back-foot cover drive at about 1:27.

I remember thinking this bloke would have a pretty solid career after this innings. Didn't do much after but looked quite talented. The six at 2:46 is splendid
