Australia's innings and 360 run win over South Africa

Did you see Australia's win! I'm an Englishman and that tells you that I don't really like Australia but I thought their win over South Africa was truly amazing.

Gilchrist's 204* was the best innings I've seen since Lara's 375*. If you didn't already know it was the fastest ever double hundred in test history. Hayden and Martyn also had superb innings and these were all topped off by McGrath bowling excellently in both innings (as per usual) and Warne ripping through their top order in the second innings.

They've got to be the best team for the past decade now, haven't they?

An amazing innings yes although remember South Africa were missing the leadership and bowling of Pollock and Donald.

Still, what an incrediable innings!

I know, I forgot about them. I must say Makhaya Ntini bowled really well considering his in-experience but got absolutely no luck at all.

Never mind the fact Donald was injured. When Sir Garfield Sobers made 365 in 1957-58 (then the world record), not many people know that Pakistan were ravaged by injury.

Captain and spinner Abdul Kardar played with a broken finger, Mahmood Hussain pulled a thigh muscle and spinner Nasim-ul-Ghani fractured a thumb. Leaving just two specialist bowlers in Fazal Mahmood and Khan Mohammad.

And when Brian Lara scored his 375, all of Engand's bowlers were useless so it didn't matter if they were injured or not!

:D

Yeah, but the main thing with Sober's and Lara's innings was that they did them, not that the bowling attack was useless. If a bowler can get into their country's test team then they should be good enough.
