I'm not sure exactly but I would have to say at least a 3rd of Pope's wickets in his short Shield career to date have been down leg.

Strangely, Bancroft hasn't been one of then

EDIT: yeahhhhh Pope is really running hot now

benefit of the doubt doesn't go with the batsman it seems. Webster given out caught on the boundary when it almost certainly should have been 6

I see that Pope's been expensive. I also see that he has taken wickets, unlike his teammates' 0/195.

I thought Pope's control actually looked much improved compared to last year.

also looking forward to seeing some of these young SACA batsmen today. Never watched Davis or Scott and didn't see a lot of Hunt last year.

Ashton agar made a 100, how flat is this wa vs sa pitch?
I didn't get to see any of it but the quicks taking literally no wickets so far in the game does suggest there's not a lot in it. I genuinely do think there are worse specialist bats in the Shield than Agar though. He batted really well last season at 7/8; batting six is optomistic but I don't think him doing that and tonning up is completely off base.

Davis is 30 though. Agree with your point, good oppurtunity to some newer faces. Certainly nothing wrong with the deck either
