Definitely a possibility. I did think if they had another batsmen in the squad it would be a formality but with it being Wells I don't think it is. They may also choose to get Green into bowling but not full 10 overs. I read an article about his winter at the academy and his time injured and he said he focused on his batting to take it to the next level. Time will only tell but he looked decent in that Shield knock of his.
I think NSW will struggle but will be better in the Shield. Just go through the squad, nearly everyone is a better red ball player.
Yeah like I think I've said before, if they decided to clean house and get rid of both I could've understood.. or alternatively if they said they were both still amongst the best bats in the state I could've understood.. or even if they axed Larkin and kept MadDog, I could see the logic in that too. But there's just no real argument for what they've done. And I say that as someone who actually likes Larkin.
Well Victoria didn't offer him a contract. That doesn't mean they couldn't call him up (I don't think Maddinson actually has a contract either) but I'm not sure if he stayed in Victoria or moved somewhere else. He still has a BBL contract with the Renegades but he's not even permanently based in Australia anymore so no guarantee he was even available for this tournament once they didn't contract him.
