Hard to argue with that XI.

QLD
Bryant
Khawaja
Burns
Labuschagne
Renshaw
Wildermuth
Peirson
Neser
McDermott
Kuhnemann
Stanlake

No room for former aussie ODI 'star' Heazlett. Swepson not good enough and former Aussie squad member Doggett unable to get a game too.
Like that team, looks pretty strong. I would probably leave out Renshaw for Heazlett but otherwise it looks really solid. Looking forward to seeing McDermott Jr back in the side

Swepson to get a game as an all-rounder after his batting last season

One day cup starts in just under 2 weeks.

Anyone with any news? I just know Chris Lynn isnt playing for QLD as he wants to be a T20/T10 overseas player.
WAC Lynn is. I’d ban him from the BBL. Just an arsehole move.

hearing reports that one of the kids outscored Burgey's kid today
Good hit out for impending Australian test player Nick Bertus, making 65 batting at three in the state trial today.

Bigger news with Parra completing a successful preseason weekend up in Newcastle vs Cardiff. It’s are short a couple of bowlers this season with the retirement of club legend Benny Martin and Pommy import Jack White not returning for a third season. Pressure on Copperfield to take at lest 40 again this year.

I definitely considered Heazlett but I remembered Renshaw late season BBL performances where he seemed to handle the middle order role well and I just want to see him batting.

aussie tragic

International Captain
Is Jason Floros still retired? See he made 112* and took 3 wkts in grade on the week-end. Renshaw also made 89, Burns 25.

Someone said in an Ashes thread that Renshaw is playing for Kent atm. Has he returned home?

Yeah, kinda forgot Renshaw actually being relevant in the BBL, good call. 89 in the first round of Brisbane grade a good start, but as far as I can work out he wasn't facing any bowlers of real repute

Queensland should look alright as long as they keep that pleb Gannon as far away from the squad as possible

If Marnus is available I probably wouldn't play a specialist leggie imo. Play Matt Kuhnemann as lead spinner with Marnus bowling a couple of overs on the side

Like the look of Kuhnemann tbh. The Short 258 game springs to mind, usually bowling as a spinner at Hurstville is equivalent to being waterboarded but he kept his head remarkably well against the onslaught
