Aus Vs Numibia

Eclipse

International Debutant
Good bowling performance by Numibia even know Australia made 301.

Nice finnish by Lhemann to last over went 444646!!
Would that be a world cup record for most runs in an over ??

Also Symonds was batting really really well before Martyn ran him out for 59 good to see him consolidate on his 143*

Likely to be a WC record - can't find one bigger.

Most in an over in ODI was Aamer Sohail who conceded 30 in 1996

Yep, previously was India's 245-run stuffing at the hands of Sri Lanka in a Sharjah final in 2000-01. I believe that was the game where Jayasuriya made 189.

There have been a plethora of records in every game at this world cup, but this one takes the cake. Probably a record for most records in an ODI, in a World Cup, in South Africa, in a game involving Australia, on this ground, etc etc etc!!!!

Basically remarkable stuff from McGrath, and Lehmann's batting in that last over was very impressive.

You shouldn't listen to these commentators who haven't a clue what they are talking about.
There have been 2 occasions when 30 runs have been scored in a single ODI over - Jayasuriya featured in both. The first was in 1996 in Singapore on the postage stamp which is the Padang ground. Sohail bowled a wide, then Jayasuriya hit a four and 4 sixes plus a single.

The second time was in Sharjah in 2001 when Chris Harris got lcobbered 666642.

Neither are World Cup games.

Talk to your Uncle Eddie if you want to know these things

Yes, but those were all boring. The best record from the game is the one I awarded - Silliest performance by an umpire in a ODI

Actually, the commentator didn't say it took place last WC when Jayasuriya did it. I thinks its broncoman who's mistaken.

I assume that the game when the alleged comment was made is the WIvCAN game. If not, I apologize. :D
