At this rate they're probably looking for 220-230, but hopefully a couple of wickets sometime soon will keep their score down.
Thankfully the latter eventuated. :) Picked up two wickets in two balls when they were 182/8, and eventually bowled them out for 198 in 48.1 overs. Final bowling figures:

Gillespie: 2-37 (9.1)
Berry: 4-40 (9)
Owen: 2-44 (10)
Oddy: 0-26 (10)
Booth: 0-36 (10)

Will be very annoyed if my batsmen can't chase that. :@

Nice one Adam :)

I won by ten wickets - bowling the opposition out for 50. Dwight Tuck stands with 20 wickets this season @ 8.65...bowled 7-4-5-4 today. I just need to teach my lower order to bat a bit...

Isn't that the second time you've done that now? It took just three balls for my hopes of matching that feat to disappear:

0.3 W Byles to Bridge
that hit the wickets so hard the stumps went for four! out!

Great...

Correct. Won the cup game by ten wickets as well.

Hoping that the introduction of Quincy Fernandes to the team might help the fragile lower order (he's made 39* and 3* so far in his career, yet preferred Theo Donovan because of side skills...not clever)

Cuss 13 (8 balls) <--- nice start!

I'm depending a lot on him, but I don't know how long he can maintain his 187.5 average... I've only had to go past no. 5 once so far, so I don't really know how my tail will do. My guess is that they won't do well at all, so hopefully they won't be called into action.

Cruised home by nine wickets, with nearly 13 overs to spare in the end. Cuss finished 95* (105) (his fourth score of 90+) to boost his average to a more respectable 235. Berry, the captain, hit 91* (124) in addition to his 4-40, to collect his second MotM award.

I had it set on 'go for it' though, so my players will probably feel the effects next week. In fact the fitness level has dropped from 'fair' to 'fatigued', though morale is now 'over the moon'. Wondering whether I should set it to 'take it easy' next week in order to get the fitness level back up, though I guess I could drop the training intensity a bit instead.

Notable performers thus far:

Sol Cuss: 470 runs @ 235.00, SR 91.26, HS 160 (2x100, 2x50)
Reon Berry*: 222 runs @ 111.00, SR 77.35, HS 91* (2x50) and 11 wickets @ 18.73, SR 19.09, ER 5.89, BB 5-68
Sterling Gillespie: 66 runs @ 33.00, SR 76.74, HS 45 and 15 wickets @ 9.47, SR 13.20, ER 4.30, BB 8-30

These three seem to do most of the work, will need others to step up eventually.

I won by 10 wickets today. Hamshaw and Wheat put on 230 in 26 overs. Awesome stuff...

When the correct the net run rate stuff is put the tables hopefully I'll be second, if not, I'm third. I'm not sure to stop the top side though. They are blazing away at the moment with some quite ridiculous bowling at the moment..

I think my unbeaten run is going to come to an end today. :( Had the misfortune of being made to bowl first on a flat track, and they're currently 172-2 after 26, with their two best batsmen in. TBH I'll be pretty happy to 'restrict' them to 320 or so, and hope that my top order continue their good form.

EDIT: Good job lads, only 367 to win! 8-)

EDIT: My openers are making an impressive attempt chasing a near-impossible target. 119-0 after 16 overs, RR of 7.44, RRR of 7.29. Cuss continuing his incredible run with 69* (52) so far.

hmmm. i have 1 strong and 2 respectable bowlers in my side. yet, the seem incapable of taking wickets. what would be the best way to sort this out? set their bowling to attacking? very attacking???

I have no decent bowlers in my side, i bat down to 9 with specialist batsmen. 10 and 11 are handy bowlers but the rest of the bowling gets done by part timers.

:@ 348-3 chasing 366, very frustrating. Probably could have managed a win if Cuss hadn't got out on 98. His average has now been shot down to 189.33. Still, a few decent knocks from Cuss (98 off 87), Berry (95* off 79), Barrett (71* off 58) and Bridge (53 off 65).
Can't really blame the batsmen for this loss; our bowlers were rubbish, even taking into account the flat track. Dropped to #3 with the top three each on four wins and one loss.

Hoggy, I'm up for a friendly if you like, my team's Asterix XI.

*GASP* Oh no
His average has taken another tumble today, after managing just 150 (126) against Hoggy's team in a friendly. Only 179.5 now! :-O Berry managed 95 (114) and now averages 137.33. Gillespie's 63* (46) takes his average to 50.67, and Barrett has scored 188 runs without being dismissed. I sent Canoville up the order as a pinch-hitter but he was run out for a duck.

I had most of my batsmen set to 'aggressive' or 'v. aggressive' and luckily got away with it on a good pitch, ended up with 338-3 after being sent in. He's started well though (67-0 after 11) and has some good batsmen so I think it will be close.

Hmmm looks like its gonna be a close one Adam, but i must warn you. My team bats down to 9 :)
