even though he done well for NZ i don't reckon it's very fair to put donnelly in an NZ all-time XI when he only played 7 tests
Yeah good point but having read about him it sounds like he was quite special and his career was cut in the middle by the war. CC, you also make a valid point about it being light in the bowling so maybe replace Donnelly with Motz.

LHC- i agree with your team for PAK on most counts(i can see Saqlain over Fazal) but Anwar over Majid Khan and Abbass over Inzy doesnt fly.

PS: Dont agree with Headley as opener...he never really opened and played in the 30s/40s....And Worrell vs Kanhai is a toughie...Kanhai was most definately a superior batsman but Worrell brought the captiancy skill to the equation....
As per Garner...i dont contest his inclusion too much....just that i would think that a quality spinner(and Gibbs was arguably the best off spinner before Murali came along) would make the team overall better.....the WI already have the best depth ever in pace bowling..

Sorry for laughing at you but I would have Cowie, Motz, Collinge, Lance Cairns, Chatfield and even Shane Bond ahead of Morrison. Morrison was lucky to be around during a period when Hadlee had just retired and we had a severe lack of decent pace bowlers in the country and he was the best of a bad bunch.
Plus he's the most annoying TV and radio journalist this country has ever seen.
But you're entitled to your opinion.
Agreed...That was a shocking NZ greatest team made up from someone who obviously no very little about NZ cricket.

No doubt morrison is one of the wettest characters in New Zealand. Probably 2nd only to Gavin Larsen (who incidentally would fit in better in the Girl Guides than in the commentary box).

I guess most of you won't know who Peter Rawson is. I don't know much about him myself but I know he was a good bowler, he had a first-class bowling average of 23 and he was a quick.

i would include Paul Strang ahead of Ray Price...and whats that Saffie allrounder who took Zimbok citizenship's name ? i think he plays as well.

Neil Johnson? His test record is poor. Maybe for ODIs?
I picked Price ahead of Stang because I think that over time he would have become better than him. Strang was better with the bat but I think it balances the team more, five bats three allrounders three bowlers
