Afghanistan v New Zealand - Only Test

And who'd pay the difference to host it at a better venue or you think it's all free because it's India?
The team that has a grand total of 2 (test) wins in India
Speculating, like the others, but maybe this has more to do with Taliban? They're not exactly GoI's BFF. 8-)
Either do it properly in a proper venue or don't ****ing host it. There is nothing more to it. This has been nothing but a waste of time for everyone involved.

And what the f_u_c_k does that mean, these are unseasonal rains! The monsoon retreats well down South/west by now! Ideally they should've done better but then you're ignoring the 10,000lbs Trex in the room.

I am not. The rains aren't the problem, they aren't controllable. The problem is that shithole ground is clearly not of international standard. Had this match been in any moderately good ground, 50 overs of play would atleast have been possible on both days.

Then at least 50% of the blame goes to ACB, you can't shift tests on a short notice. This isn't MCU or DCEU or One piece for that matter :eye:

An Afghanistan team official told ESPNcricinfo the players were unhappy with the facilities at the venue and it's possible that they may not want to play in Greater Noida in the future. He also said Afghanistan had wanted this Test to be played in Lucknow, Dehradun or Kanpur. But that was not possible because Lucknow and Dehradun are hosting T20 leagues, and the stadium in Kanpur is being readied for the second Test between India and Bangladesh later this month.

For the unseasonal rains pretty much anywhere (except North East?) they would've had some issues right now.

As for the larger point about hosting it properly, that is true, but again probably influenced by geopolitics as well. Let's see if BCCI continues shoving ACB like that or not; if it's a pattern, then politics is definitely a factor!

If you're talking about changing the venue from Dharmashala, then yes. But anyway you spin it, this ground should not had held the Test match. The quality is very poor. As ACB isn't managing that, BCCI is, they should had paid proper attention to it. As you said, every venue would had came with problems, but not able to prepare the ground to be safe enough after 5-6 hours of rainfall is just really Sad.

It was always supposed to be played at that ground; it was never "rescheduled," AFAIK. If you're talking about BCCI not helping ACB "properly," then yes, I agree with that, although with a caveat that it's possibly above their pay grade.

All I am saying is this ground should never had held this match. Or any international match. Period. BCCI scheduled it here and they honestly couldn't had done any worse.

The monsoon isn't operated by a clockwork. Unseasonable weather occurs. The point is that the ground obviously has very poor drainage, which shouldn't be acceptable for a prospective international venue, especially one built so recently.

Well here's your answer.
Who’s at fault?

With two consecutive days of play abandoned, questions were raised on why did the Afghanistan Cricket Board choose Greater Noida as its home venue?

“The BCCI offered us three venues - this one, Kanpur and Bengaluru, but we chose Greater Noida as it was most convenient in terms of logistics. It was closer to Delhi and also connectivity from Kabul was better,” said Menhajuddin Naz, the international cricket manager at ACB.

“This has always been our home venue. We have hosted teams like Zimbabwe, Ireland here since 2016. Recently, during our discussions with the BCCI, this ground was offered and this was the best logistical venue for us,” Naz added.

Keep in mind this was probably a few months (years?) back, so they wouldn't have anticipated the unseasonal rains.

Can they reshcedule the Test until a few days? cos the isnt part of the championship, it should be easier to push back the start date? cant they use common sense and just re start the Test 2mrw?
