Who was better cricketer?

Adam Dale was born in Ivanhoe, he went on to play for Queensland in Shield cricket but also represented Aus in 2 test matches and 30 odd ODIs. Famed for his love of Japanese cartoons and nighclubs he retired in 2011 to pursue something meaningful.

Jon Lewis was raised in Swindon, an absolute hole of a town on the M4. After he escaped he went on to represent Gloucestershire in county cricket where he avoided the trappings of excessive cider drinking and loose six fingered maidens to record great success with the county including a few domestic cup comp wins. He played 1 test for Eng and 13 ODIs. He is now the bowling coach for England U19 and spokesperson for Nandos in Canary Wharf.

So who was the better player? Were both careers unfulfilled?

Does playing for Queensland make it less likely someone will play for Australia in the same way that Gloucestershire players are too far west for the England selectors?
