As the test edition winds to a close, with the 00s looking the likely winners, I figure no harm in beginning this thread.

This edition will only have 5 teams, so I'm yet to figure out how I'm gonna do the tournament. Don't hold your breath for a simleague sunilz.

Anyway, so we all know the drill:

Let's begin with the 1970s:

Pick your two openers
Pick your number 3 batsman
Pick your opening bowlers

International Coach
This is tough to judge given limited games. Going with record rather than reputation mainly

Turner + Amiss
Viv
Chris Old + Bob Willis

Turner's average is heavily inflated from a huge not out minnow bash knock by the way.

The 70s side will be similar to the 19th century test side in that's more just an interesting little exercise than a side with a chance of winning

2000 will win this again.
Tendulkar, Gilchrist, Dhoni, Mcgrath, Pollock, Murali.
90s Tendulkar > 2000s Tendulkar,
2000s Gilchrist
Bevan = Dhoni
90s Mcgrath
99 Klusenar > Pollock
2000s Murali > Saqlain
Jayasuriya, Symonds, Wasim Akram all should win over whoever is in 2000s

So 90s wins.

If Symonds is picked he'd be in 2000s, not 90s

This edition will only have 5 teams, so I'm yet to figure out how I'm gonna do the tournament.
You could do:

1970s
1980s
early 1990s (1990-Dec 94)
late 90s (1995-1999)
early 2000s
late 2000s
early 2010s
late 2010s

Then there would be 8 teams so playoffs would be easier to manage.
