Australia by 170. Al Hasan to make 18 off 25 to confirm his status as the greatest Bangladesh cricketer of all time.

That's all he needs to chase down 170 tbh after a rampaging knock of 81 from 33 balls by Tamim. The match will be over before the Aussies manage to figure out which one's Shakib and which one's Soumya.

England are clearly the toughest team in this tournament, and Bangladesh actually fought well even though they were about 20-30 runs short, but even then that wouldn't have been enough against this formidable England batting line-up. I think based on that experience from that game, Bangladesh will beat Australia provided there's a full game. Australia batting heavily relies on the top 3. Their middle order is nowhere near as strong as England's. If Bangladesh do bat first again then they definitely need to post over 320 to stand a chance.

Not too disrespect Bangladesh and their accomplishments in recent times, if they were to beat Australia it would be a massive upset. It can happen and Australia was their first win against a top 8 side IIRC but I think it is highly unlikely that we would lose to them here.

Far more likely that it's a washout and Australia have to go up against England in effectively a knock out match.

BD beat NZ the last time they met
NZ were on their way to beating Aus last time they met
Therefore BD > Aus

Can't argue with the math

Nope, they beat Pakistan in 99 and India in 04.

We beat the 2005 Aus ODI side too. Pretty sure that was the game that softened them up for England prior to the Ashes. You're welcome Poms.

We've also beaten England a couple of times in world events and South Africa once too.

Thought that had already been mentioned

Basically BD beating sides ranked above them in world events isn't a surprise anymore.
