2nd Semi Final | Ind vs Eng | Adelaide, 10 Nov 2022

Dravid is gutless and lacks the courage to stand up to the top 3. I thought the team had bought wholesale into the all-out aggression mantra while the three were being rested. Relapsed as soon as they walked back into the side. The great thing about T20 which these ****s don't get is it doesn't matter if you accelerate later on and manage to get your SR to an "acceptable" level. Sluggishness at any given stage always incurs a penalty in terms of momentum and risk posed to batsmen at the other end and those to follow.

Whatever it takes!!!
Lokesh and Rahul really need to go and I doubt Virat has another T20 WC in him.

Drop all 3 and let them focus on Tests and the ODI WC in 2023. Start grooming the next gen in the bilateral T20s vs NZ.

We don't really do A-Team cricket tour as much anymore. Keep the Test squad separate and groom the next gen whenever we do have A Team 'test' tours. Use JAMODIs and T20Is to build for the World Cups.

Really this is common sense and should have been done a decade ago but the BCCI never learns.
We have better replacements for Rohit and Rahul than we do for Virat.

Yeah, he's not ideal, but if we don't have alternatives, I'd rather have him in this touch and hope it transfers over to other formats. Still has a ton to offer as a batsman, assuming he wants to play for 3-4 years more.

right now yes, but Kohli is 34 and will be 36 by the time the next WT20 rolls around. Between now and then we have a 50 over World Cup and plenty of Test series. I'd rather we don't burn him out by pushing him in all 3 formats again. Rest him from all the useless T20s and let him focus on Tests and 50 Over cricket IMO. If by the time 2024 rolls around we still have no one else, and he's killing it in the IPL, then draft him in for some bilateral T20s/Asia Cup right before the WC and assess then if he can improve the side or not.

I rather we get some fresh blood in and build around SKY and Pandya for 2024.

England on song is such a monster side though. Can win games from virtually anywhere in the top 9. Think I'll root for them just for the annoyance factor it will pose to Aussies everywhere. Imagine seeing the poms lifting the trophy at your mecca.

India should be winning the T20 World Cup regularly due to the IPL, the quality of which is often as good as, if not better than International T20's.

England's T20 comp, is miles short of the IPL in terms of quality and even the 100 lags behind.

Whenever I watch the IPL there always seems to be loads of young Indian talent around but it never seems to find its way through to the national team - something in the Indian system must be seriously wrong.

Too many cooks spoil the broth ... Having 3 guys at the top of the order , all right handed , all three looking to be the one that scores the most runs regardless of SR its just madness ! Also when you have players that are rooted to a position it also causes tactical inflexibility! ... When India won 2011 WC ...Dhoni promoted himself to to finish the job ... When last did India try something like that ? Everybody knows last couple of years India's batting order is set in stone it ain't changing.

He promoted himself to 5. Sehwag, Sachin, Gambhir, kohli batted before him

I for one feel we are still some time away for franchise leagues to match the intensity and pressure of a world cup.

It has happened in football and will happen in cricket eventually but we are not there yet.

Definitely, it should happen ...But there is a Con to it ...If BCCI allow players to play in overseas leagues those players may not always want to be available for national duty ...It has happened with so many teams that's one of the reasons why BCCI has not allowed to play in leagues where they have less control of their players...It reduces the Indian Brand ...

Example South African players chose not to represent the SA test team vs Bangladesh so that they could prepare for IPL cricket ...

Imagine India had a test series and it clashed with a Dubai league that paid big money for Pant ...It would create a big dilemma for the player and a bad look for India if he left .

The BCCI / IPL can pay their players more than any other franchise can manage. Their reason for not allowing it is even more selfish - they don't want other cricket boards to profit from Indian viewership.

Yeah for capped players it is bad but for uncapped players like Umran Malik, Shivam Mavi who got get a lot of exposure by playing in foreign T20 leagues.

wishful thinking but we all know thats never going to happen.

Here goes nothing-

1.BCCI needs to be restructured. all the money and still no onus on producing a world class bowling attack.
2.give a player (even kohli) a few games (could be 3 or 4) and replace them with anyone else. rinse and repeat till you find a good player.
3.remove the coach- he prefers seniority over performance- this is not a typical indian govt job.
4.some players need to be shown the door permanently- like bhuvi, kl, chahal (include rohit if you would like). ashwin should be moved to only odi and tests.

if there is a god- then i just wish indian craze for cricket dies down. all india needs to do is play like this for another x number of years. hoping this would bring down the viewership, the funds for bcci and the players and hopefully people focus on other sports or nothing at all. either way the country benefits and the ungrateful players and staff learn to earn their way to the indian team.
