Yeah I've been meaning to write this but twice at work (We have PC there, I have Mac at home) the computer crashed from a virus as soon as I went on Cricketweb.
It was a really stupid virus too. It came on and hid the program that we use to run the cash register database. Was a bit of a disaster for a while. I'm fairly sure it was from CW too
Well, isn't that like a form of online free-balling?
Yeah exact same thing at my work too.
I had exactly the same thing last Friday
Interesting. Last week at work I came back from a meeting and the IT guys were taking my computer away as there was a virus that threatened to whole network on my PC. I know I check nothing but facebook, CricketWeb and cricinfo at work and couldnt for the life of me figure out what was going on. This maybe explains it.
We can't all have been looking at the same Scandanavian scat site, can we?

I get thrown off the internet whenever I try to to get on to cricketweb but find if I try three or four times it works. This has only been happening in the last week.

although the best way to not get viruses is to stop visiting those dodgy porn sites.

Your words on the interwebz hurt me. i demand vengeance...I'm burning your country's flag and demand an apology for offending me from your national government. I may also place your photo on the side of a goat.

Mine did yesterday too. Had to get the IT blokes to fix it. Came up with some Windows Recovery box - you know, click this to repair these problems. Didn't obviously, called the IT guys who confirmed it was a bug.
I got something similar today. Popped up with a warning my computer was infected and had 28 viruses, click here to purchase protection and remove problem, etc. Had to do a restore to get shot of it.

Was watching Richmond v Essendon on a site of, ah, doubtful provenance too, so might not have been CW, but seems heck of a coincidence.

My laptop going boobs up the other week coincided with this, and the only program i had open on both occasions were web browser (first time I was playing ICC too, and AVG popped up, but the web was a constant in both breakdowns). Can't specifically remember if CW was open, but would've been at some point in that session.

Didnt help myself by not having a firewall running mind.....

Sorry guys, forgot to update this thread.

Our host conducted an audit of the server last week and did indeed find a virus. It was cleaned out at the time. This virus was only targeting people using IE browsers, so if you were using any other browser, you wouldn't have had a problem.

They've put a few extra programs on the server along with a daily check with an email to myself if anything is found.

That rules my theory out then, least I know Opera is keeping me safe from everything bar myself!

Same virus took out my hard drive yesterday as I clicked on a link from CW forum to Fertang's latest front page article. Hoping the IT people can fix it.
