Nah we tried it at PC. People much preferred talking in the threads and the shoutbox ended up being a waste of space, not unlike Mabel Murphy's pumpkin pies.

tbf re: the rolleyes, I notice most of the other forums I've ever read that it isn't used/seen in a condescending way at all, not like it is here anyway.

Killer, I'm almost certain the chatbox/shoutbox issue has been raised before, and it isn't something that anyone in particular (I.e. James, the owner) thought would be beneficial to the site.
