Thread deletion - unprecedented?

In light of recent events, I feel compelled to register my dissent.

This pertains to the 'sperm killers' thread.

It was locked, then deleted. I'm not sure this has happened before, but then again I'm a fairly sporadic poster on these forums.

So what gives? Are some threads so utterly obscene that they should never see the light of day?

Didn't really see the issue until the puns came out. What's wrong with alerting your fellow man to potential sources of 'bad health'

Next, we won't be allowed to discuss meat, two veg, beef chops and the like because they too in excess could be considered bad for your health.

I deleted the thread. We are still a family forum, and when the majority of posts within a thread aren't suitable for that audience, then why leave it there for viewing once its been closed?

While I'm not questioning what you did, but the thread itself, wasn't it going to drop down the forum list within a matter of hours anyway?

When I was on here before, before the unpleasantness, there were a lot of disgruntled members (ones who mainly posted in OT) because of the ridiculously strict moderating. Couldn't type a word that was censored, and thus appeared as asterixes, without getting an official warning. Is that not the point of the filter?

I'm all for a family friendly forum, but if Charlie Sheen can talk so brazenly about his *** life at 7pm on free-to-air television, I'm not sure what the limit is.

Lack of hot chix on CW an issue.

Haha yeah but that's not the issue here. Was resolved years ago.
