I was considering it yesterday in fact, but I thought I'd best prove myself as a permanent member before I did that. I've probably had at least one stint as long as this previously before having a massive break for no apparent reason so I don't want to go into anything prematurely.

Me too - exactly the same thing is true and the same thoughts crossed my mind because of it.

If anything, I feel Staff Membership will probably tie me to the place now I have responsibilities and can't just disappear with no explanation.

Well, he's a long-serving member of another forum where he's reasonably respected there... he's not a complete tool or a forum-noobie. He didn't really have a place on cricketweb though, obviously.

He sounded like somebody who had a bit of experience on internet forums previously, still the outright bashing of you wasn't on, I was just impressed that it wasn't straight up slander.
