Posts before some one can put a new thread

If we have this feature, it can be useful in cutting down unncessary spam threads. Maybe posting 10 posts before a new member can put in a thread..

A problem caused by a rule like this is, that we have a lot of people who come on just wanting to find one thing out, and make a thread about it. For example, issues like how to protect their cricket bat, if anyone has heard of "such and such" player who is at their club, what bat they should buy... etc. are often raised by people who have just rocked up, or they just need a question answered for some reason.

If we implemented a rule like that, then these people either wouldn't get their question answered, or they'd spam for 10 posts so that they can post their thread.

And one easy way of people (who are interested in sticking about) being able to get involved in a forum is to post a new thread on a certain topic which starts discussion.

Good in two ways for us, it gives us a chance to be welcoming and it induces discussion. :)

Must say since we started doing the awards, a lot of the best threads in Cricket Chat have come from people making a first post.
