Problems accessing CW

Same thing.. The whole server appears to be down.. But it can be accessed through an anonymous online proxy..

Ok.. Just rang them.. At first they said it was probably your server being down or being full.. I said that was crap because it worked through another proxy..

The guy wanted me to do some "tracert" or Trace Route thing, to try and find the cause of the problem.. That failed..

They said your server might be putting up some problems in being accessed. They wouldn't get too technical because it was over a help desk.. But yeah..

Can you try the tracert again and post the results in this thread please? I'll then forward them onto our hosts.

It wouldn't work though.. I've got Win XP..

I went to run.. Opened command.. And in the Fake MS-DOS, I typed "tracert http://www.cricketweb.net" ... I also tried "tracert http://forum.crickweb.net".. along with "www.cricketweb.net"..

It keeps saying "Unable to resolve target system name [then the site i typed here]"...

Even though I'm currently accessing CW straight through my server ATM..

If that doesn't work either, try tracerting a site you can access and see if it works.

Also, do any of your friends use this ISP? If so, are they able to check and see if they can access Cricket Web?

This time it worked.. Resolutions better, so you can read all the stuff.. BTW the site's working perfectly ATM.. I'll do this same thing again when the site isn't working for me and post up the results here..

But here's what I did just then..

I'll see whether our hosts can throw any light on this, but yes if it happens again try the tracert and post the results up.

Nothing worked.. So I did the Tracert on the ip..

Suprisingly enough, the IP address worked when I typed it into Opera.. But none of the links would work, as they used the domain..

James, did the "tracert" reveal anything? When I did that last one, neither of the websites were working.

I'm with Bigpond which is Australia's largest internet provider.. I've got problems accessing this site..

Often either http://forum.cricketweb.net/ or http://www.cricketweb.net/forum, will work.. But not both..

When both of them don't work, I can use an online anonymous surfing proxy to access cricketweb.. Like now..

Are these problems with my service provider?
I have the exact same problem. I've got 6 versions of the Forum index in my bookmarks, and most of the time only 1 or none will work.
