This was a pretty tight draft. Some fine bowling and batting lineups. Disappointed at the lack of Chee Quee though.

yeah, needed a couple more entrants. Then we'd seen Chee Quee, Corey Richards and Greg Mail lol.

**** I should've really gone for Corey Richards haha. Was rocking him as my DP/avatar for a while on another forum.

I wanted to pick him too,but man his record was so crap lol. I remember thinking he was in the Siddons/Cox class as I remember him scoring some runs for Australia A

Went with Camo, Jimmy and Teuton. Good balanced sides.

trundler had easily the best bowling attack but the batting leaves a bit to be desired

Yeah I was kinda hoping David Saker would sneak into one of the sides. Cheeqers, of course, and Scotty Muller. Rod Tucker was a bit stiff too.

Teuton

International Captain
Was very hard to split about 5 teams.

In the end it covered about 3 eras -mid/late 80s, 90s and early 2000s so there were lots of extra test players and hence the above average shield players didn't get a look in. Maybe we should have had min 3 seasons or similar in the actual 90s

Few other unlucky blokes: Brad McNamara, Scott Prestwidge, Damien Wright, Gavin Robertson, David Freedman, Lee Carseldine, Clinton Perren, Graeme Rummans, Phil Emery, Mark Atkinson (both of them), Simon Cook, Matthew Phelps, Matthew Nicholson, Brendan Creevey, Matthew Mott, Brad Young, Geoff Foley, Kade Harvey & Brett Swain.

Probably more notable players that I can't think of right now.

Yeah some gun names especially with bowlers missed out.

JB should've been picked.

Two other bowlers who I find really interesting names but didn't really have much careers to speak of were Troy Corbett and Craig Howard. Both had horrible injury problems but from what I've read had lots of talent. It's interesting that some flat out express bowlers had rather crap averages (aforementioned Corbett, George, Spencer, Harrity) at Shield level, especially given at that level you'd have expected them to be too quick for a fair few specialist batsmen.

I really liked Good Areas Shane's top 6 bats. Two circumspect left handed openers to see off the new ball followed by 4 of the best domestic bats. Bowling slightly weak, but still good enough to make my top 3.

Jimmy's selection of Arnberger at 3 surprised me as I definitely thought of him more of an opener. But the 4 and 5 are very classy and while Shane Lee looks a smidgeon too high at 6, the 8-9-10 are all very capable so it makes the batting fine for 4 day cricket. I like how the bowling unit has a genuine quick, swing bowler, leg spinner and Rackemann was a legend too.

Morgie's team seems very well balanced. The 5 man bowling unit has a bit of everything and I especially feel as though Reid and Lawson would form a potent new ball partnership and Bichel would provide excellent backup. Steve Waugh seems a little wasted all of the way down at 6 in Shield Cricket, I would drop Nobes and move SWaugh to 4 ahead of Clarke at 5 and bring in say James Brayshaw at 6.

I think James Brayshaw was the best bat overlooked, Phil Emery the best keeper. Joe Scuderi was a decent all rounder overlooked. Bowling is tough, I actually think that Chris Matthews was an excellent bowler who was overlooked. Joe Dawes, Ashley Noffke and Damien Wright came to mind too but there are probably several others too. Good draft.

Scuderi! What a champion! We could literally have another draft the talent pool is that wide.

And yeah, I opted for Arnie at 3 cause I couldn't think of another batsman at the time. Probably should have done some research.
