    homegrounds

Forgive me if this has already been discussed.

Do we pick a homeground for our teams?

If yes, do we pick a real ground from around the world or just the conditions?

Good point. I'll take the SSC, Mahela to score a hundred every match.

If we don't pick home grounds, what conditions are being simulated? Would be nice to know now so as we have a better idea of what squad players to pick.
What if all the switches get stuck on 'destroy'?

I reckon each team will have a home ground. What I'm not yet decided on is whether the pitches should be different, and if so how we decide on them.
do you think people will be allowed to make violins?
who's going to make the violins?

Allow us to pick them, IMO.

Just do another draft round. Or, let everyone pick a first choice, and find some way of arbitrating the ones that clash.

Playing on different conditions each week would make it more interesting, give people more reason to change their teams around too.

Well obviously if we did have a homeground system you'd have a home/away system meaning that whilst a lot of games would be on pitches that suit you, a fair few might not. Obviously it'd be pretty pointless if everyone chose the same stock-standard Test pitch though.

It need not be a draft. Just allot 1-10 points for spin, pace, ground size etc.

    Shri speaking sense.
marc71178 - President and founding member of AAAS - we don't only appreciate when he does well, but also when he's not quite so good!

Anyone want to join the Society?

Beware the evils of Kit-Kats - they're immoral apparently.

Yeah a draft would make it harsh on those lower down the pecking order. Agree with Shri's suggestion.

Creating your own ground also allows the key task of coming up with a funny name.

    OK then, let's try this.

Post your preferred home ground in the following format

    Name:
    Bounce:
    (very low = 1 - very steep = 5)
    Evenness: (very flat = 1 - very uneven = 5)
    Outfield: (slow = 1 - fast = 5)
Weather: (always sunny = 1 - struggle to get 4 full days of play in = 5)
