International Captain
I'd honestly back Murali to outperform Swann with the ball if this competition was real, especially considering how good he's always been at mesmerising players not up to Test standard. It'd be pretty negligible though and Swann's more valuable due to his batting. Still, Murali is a gun.
nahh he's been pretty unfit for some time.

Those last two picks of his have amazing stats. Now that you post the line up it looks pretty awesome actually :) Maybe get a specialist opener in there now?

You do have to be a bit careful with Sri Lankan bowlers as their domestic seasons have been really bowler-friendly in the past. Averaging 20 isn't quite what it seems; no doubt it's nothing to sneeze at though.

Chandimal averaging 80 last year and 50 the year before a fair effort to say the least, then. Not to mention Mathews averaging 50 overall.

I believe the pitches have been a little flatter for the last couple of seasons. Those two have been particularly immense though given the conditions; indeed.

Actually there are bowlers in every country with really low averages. There are several in WI and South Africa too it seems. So don't know why people single out Asian countries.

Cheema averaged 14 with the ball last season in Pakistan and Weerakoon averaged 16 last season plus near 18 the last 4 seasons.

And that is in proper FC matches.

How do the two league structure in England work? And India?

I doubt there are clear stats available Season by season of what division you are playing in.

South Africa's a bit funny because they have a competition with First Class status that shouldn't really have it and is entirely amateur; you have to make sure you don't fall into the trap of picking players who haven't played franchise cricket as they're essentially club cricketers with First Class records.

Sri Lanka's domestic cricket generally is just really bowler friendly. Here are the competition-wide batting averages for the Premier League, year by year:

2001 - 22.52
2002 - 21.76
2003 - 22.12
2004 - 23.14
2005 - 22.89
2006 - 22.39
2007 - 25.20
2008 - 23.14
2009 - 24.95
2010 - 25.24

Compare that to county cricket:

2001 - 30.59
2002 - 30.35
2003 - 30.73
2004 - 32.60
2005 - 31.93
2006 - 33.39
2007 - 31.40
2008 - 29.86
2009 - 33.03
2010 - 28.13

Or the Sheffield Shield:

2001 - 30.59
2002 - 30.35
2003 - 30.73
2004 - 32.60
2005 - 31.93
2006 - 33.39
2007 - 31.40
2008 - 29.86
2009 - 33.03
2010 - 28.13

Obviously averaging 20 doesn't quite say as much in the former competition as the latter two. Obviously the opposite applies to batting though.

My top order being filled with Sri Lankan batsmen looks a bit more reassuring now.

Interesting to note the drop in runs for the CC and SS in 2010.
