Nasim Ashraf, Chairman of the PCB, has resigned

Breaking news filtering through on local news channels. Pretty much confirmed, still waiting for an official response.

How good a captain is Hussey?

3 games and 3 losses as captain. For someone nicknamed 'Mr Cricket' he doesn't appear to have the same affect on this talent side as Ricky Ponting (under whom Australia have been formidable in ODIs). I haven't been watching the Chappell-Hadlee series so I was wondering if people could...

    Quality quote from Warne

Warne is talking about Fletcher here. See if you can spot it:

    Moin Khan or Rashid Latif

These two dominated the Pakistani wicket keepers spot through out the nineties. Just as one had an extended spell in the team, the other was brought back into the frame. But the question is, who did you think was the better player. Here's how I see it, Moin the better batsman, Latif the better...

    Pietersen's backlash

Some of you may have heard of KP releasing a new book detailing how he was forced out of South Africa by the quota system. Does anyone have this book? I have read snippets which show Pietersen is being pretty vicious towards the likes of Ali Bacher.

    Rule Clarification

My question is this: If a right handed batsman plays a reverse sweep and the ball pitches outside the leg stump and it strikes the batsman in line with the stumps, should the batsman be viewed as a left hander and therefore be considered for lbw?

Which famous cricketers have you played cricket with/against?

Seeing Roger Telemachas playing against our first team today gave me the idea for this thread. Apart from him, there's Devang Gandhi the ex Indian player. EDIT: Just seen the title, can't edit, rather than for its with.

If you were to make a coaching manual...

which player would you use as examples for each area? That is, which player do you think is the most techniqally adept at what they do Right handed batting Jacques Kallis Left handed batting Yuvraj Singh Seam bowling (right and left handed) Glenn McGrath Quick bowling (right and left handed)...

    pics on front page

I can't help but noticing that on the front page of the website, the pictures aren't exactly well, good. If you're looking for CW to compete with websites like CricketNext and one day Cricinfo, then there needs to be decent pics of players etc.

    Do England Take ODI's Seriously?

Halsey and I were just having an argument about this on MSN. IMO they do, they are a professional unit that gives full effort to international cricket against competitive teams. We also argued over whether Flintoff should be rested for ODI's, due to his back problems. Halsey mentioned resting...

    R G Nadkarni

Does anyone know that this guy has the lowest economy in test cricket, apparently he was painstakingly accurate but never gets mentioned along with the likes of Bedi, Gupte and Chandrasekhar. Has anyone else heard of him?

    Similar Players

Are there any players who you have watched and thought, the way they play cricket is amazingly like another player that I've seen in the past. I can think of a few... Irfan Pathan = Wasim Akram (big swinger with big hitting ability) Alaistar Cook = Stephen Fleming (compact, defensive technique)...

...what would it be? I would like to see more bowler friendly pitches around the world.

    Toss Innovations

I thought of this while doing the toss in a game of table tennis. In an informal game of table tennis, the toss is won, not by luck, but by winning a preliminary point. With cricket getting more and more dependable on the toss, I propose a competitive situation in order for a team to win the...

    Aussie Nicknames

In the Twenty20 match against South Africa the Aus players had nicknames on the back of their shirts. Does anyone know what some of them were? I'm guessing McGrath was pigeon.

    Ground statistics are useless

One thing that you often hear before or during a match is how often the home team has won on a particular ground, or how a player has performed. In my opinion, all of these statistics are of absolutely no relevance to the match in question. If someone played on a ground 2 or 3 years ago and did...
