    *Official* England in West Indies

That was almost eerily similar to the last time these two teams played at Sabina Park. Granted, now we've seen a dramatic reversal of roles.

    Road to IPL 2009.

Yeah, don't think Ashraful was bought. But I'm utterly surprised that Mortaza managed to snag 600k while nobody bought Shakib. I know Mortaza is decent, but 600,000? Well, anyway, good for him. :p How does this work? is there another round of bidding later on or is that it for Shakib?

Words that have come back to bite.....

I immediately thought of this thread when I read that on cricinfo. Seriously hope it doesn't come back to bite us in the ass.

    **Official** New Zealand in Australia

    Australia - 23 extras, including more than 10 wides. NZ - 2 extras.

    Pakistan's top 10 bowlers.....ever

I'd agree with the list, personally. Am unfamiliar with some of the older bowlers on the list but for the most part looks quite solid. I'd pick Wasim as #1 too.

    Dhoni Vs KP ; ODIs

Incomparable in their roles, IMO. As mentioned, KP is a big innings player like Tendulkar or Ponting, the player around whom his team's batting lineup revolves. Dhoni is more of a finisher, like Bevan, IMO. Ideally you'd want both in your team, but given you only had to pick one, would really...

    ***Official*** India in Sri Lanka

I wonder if it's too soon to compare Dhoni's role in the Indian batting lineup to Michael Bevan's. He definitely seems to play a similar kind of "finisher" role to what Bevan used to do. Although I guess we haven't really seen too many cases of Dhoni toughing it out with the tail. Still, it's...

    Who's the better ODI batsman?

Hard question to answer but for the sake of giving an answer I'd point to longevity, sheer force of burden on his shoulders and over all playing for a weaker team throughout his career, and thus pick Tendulkar. Really a moot point though considering I've never seen Viv Richards batting (live).

Who are the most overrated/underrated cricket teams in the world currently?

I feel India is to a slight extent overrated. Especially our bowling attack. It's great that we're finally getting some decent fast bowlers but I don't think we're anywhere near the best pace attack in the world as some people would make it out to be. I agree that we're the second-best team in...

    Favourite Partnerships

For batting watching Ganguly and Tendulkar walk out there for an ODI was pure joy. Granted, most of India's success has come after these two were moved around in recent times but it's hard to argue that this singular partnership was one of the key reasons India had any success back in the...

Top 10 ODI fast bowlers of all time

He was just listing candidates from each country as a mode of organization. Don't get your panties in a bunch. ;) That said, as long as we're listing candidates, Zaheer Khan probably belongs in the "India candidates" list.

    Cricketing siblings and their performances

So I was reading today's Cricinfo "All today's yesterday" column and saw how Mark Waugh replaced Steve Waugh in the test side back in '91. Eventually, of course, the two played together for a very long time. Steve will most likely go down in history as the better player over all, but it's no...

Top 10 ODI fast bowlers of all time

In no particular order, these are probably the 10 best of those I've seen. Simply can't comment on Imran, Hadlee and the likes as I've never seen them play. Wasim Akram Waqar Younis Vaas Shaun Pollock Allan Donald Bond Ambrose McGrath Lee Gough Some of them weren't the tightest of bowlers so...

    Probably Akram or McGrath.

IPL better atmosphere than the Ashes: Warne

Probably because most of the Ashes Warne has been a part of were kind of one-sided. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but how many times has England won the Ashes during Warne's career? I count only 2005. The closest it ever got besides that was 1997 where Aus won 3-2. Every other time Aus has had at...

Which commentators irritate the pits out of you?

Honestly, I can't place most commentators by voice because I haven't watched live cricket regularly for a long time, but Sunil Gavaskar is someone I find fairly annoying. And Ramiz Raja to an extent. As for people I enjoy listening to: probably Ravi Shastri and Tony Greig.

    ***Official India in New Zealand***

On a player-by-player basis they most certainly are favorites. It's almost a mismatch, IMO. But knowing how the Indian team has played in NZ in the past, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a scare or even a defeat. But conditions and player form are not quantitative things we can use to compare...

Can David Warner settle as an opener in australian team??

Wonder if some team will take him for their IPL squad. Aussies tend to be in high demand for the IPL.

Can David Warner settle as an opener in australian team??

I thought Chappel's article was interesting as I had never thought of considering Slater in the same light as Hayden. But when you factor in the number of minnows Hayden has scored against and the quality of bowling he faced compared to what Slater faced, it's actually an interesting point...
