PCB posted an Independence Day video package celebrating Pakistan cricket's achievements with one big exclusion

Imran Khan is cropped out of pictures from the 1992 WC and there's no mention of him in the video at all. Some pretty random performances are included but not winning the Nehru Cup. Farcical.

What makes a good #7 in ODIs?

Statistically, the best #7 (by far) is Dhoni who averages 44 there but a guy like Dhoni really shouldn't be wasted down at 7. After that, you have a bunch of bits and pieces players like Mahmudullah, Razzaq and Harris who all averaged ~34. On average, a #7 faces 35-40 balls per innings and is...

    Descending Test High Score Draft

Self explanatory rules for those who took part in the Ascending version. Bradman will have a highest score of 0 for the purposes of this draft.

Temba Bavuma to replace Dean Elgar as test captain

Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic on the surface but probably a good call given their contributions to the test team. Bavuma is seen as a leader by the players from what I gather and has their backing.

    Increasing number of tests draft

The idea is to have a draft with a variable order where the pick with the fewest tests under his belt gets to go again first. I'm thinking minimum 10 tests to make it interesting. Suggestions welcome.

Kyle Jamieson — let's agree on a nickname

Yeah, we know he's pretty good. Deserving of a title bestowed upon him by the forum, in fact. So far the leading contenders for referring to the fast bowling Ubermensch are: Ivan Drago Kylo Ren Hitler's wet dream Jammyson One needs to be declared the winner imo. Other suggestions welcome.

    Reverse Batting Average Draft

You'll be picking guys in order of descending batting average. Variable round order with highest average gets first pick. Round 1 will be a free for all at a time that works for everyone. Looking for as many drafters as possible. No other draft going on ATM so you guys have no excuse.

    Debut Chronology Draft - Tests

The rules are simple: There will be a varied draft order. Picking from an earlier year will allow you to get an early pick in the next round. No 2 players can be picked from the same year of debut. All 143 years of test cricket are open so this works ideally if there are 16+ participants. I'll...

    Graham Thorpe vs Kevin Pietersen

Better test match batsman? One from a prolonged period of being ****e for England and the other from a brief stay at the top.

Classic contests that DRS would've ruined

Donald had Atherton fairly early on in that innings. Some pretty woeful umpiring made things closer than they should've been in the 2000 WI Vs Pak series. This thread isn't about bad decisions per se, just instances when having a review would've prevented a thrilling contest from commencing.

    Moderate up/downgrade thread

You know the drill. List 2 cricketers similar in style and state who was the moderate upgrade on the other. Ex: Kapil was a moderate upgrade on Afridi as a one day batsman.

    Zaheer Abbas vs Ian Chappell

Better batsman? They had careers which overlapped a fair bit and both had similar roles. Abbas averaged 2 more runs more innings but had a slightly inferior century ratio. Better batsman? You decide! Interesting comparison imo.

    Hedley Verity vs Clarrie Grimmett

Bill O'Reilly is generally considered to be the best interwar spinner owing to his supreme Ashes record and reputation as a fearsome bowler who troubled Bradman to an extent. The other 2 notable spinners from this period are Verity and Grimmett, both of whom also did relatively well when they...
