I would be interested to know if there are any south african people on this forum and really interested in the current state of cricket there and kind of wanting to know a bit more about it at the lower levels. I am fortunate to have just played a tournament in south africa where we played age...

Great to see Orchard showing some people he can bat. I think he is a great player and I know the selctors do as well. Yovich is always reliable down there. 300 run partnership for them now

    2005/2006 State League (NZ women)

I'm guess it is never easy playing against your old team especially one you have been part of for 15ish years. She played awesome though

    2005/2006 State League (NZ women)

How did u know emily played? We went down by about 70 runs in the end. Was a good game though and with such a young team I was really happy how we performed. it can be very overwealming for some of them bowling to Rolls, Watson, Lynch etc

McIntosh played for my club in christchurch and he never performed better than the people in the team, in fact i think he was lucky to make the 2nd XI. i think he may have gone down there thinking he couldd walk into the side and then really undeperformed

    2005/2006 State League (NZ women)

I am a person who would prefer to be talked down and perform better than expected than the other way. she is a good player. You have to be good to play at that level.

    2005/2006 State League (NZ women)

She had a good county season i think. Only playing division 3 though. Club was not so flash for her. well certainly not when she played against me. That was a harder competition and I think most Kiwis struggled with the pitches and it took them ages to get used to them. Well I certainly did

    2005/2006 State League (NZ women)

she has always been someone that struggles to step up to the state level however i am picking a big year from her this year. She scored 170 the other day in a OD game. ok only agaisnt schoolgirls but you still got to stay out there. Trainings she is hitting the ball very nicely. She plays club...

    2005/2006 State League (NZ women)

These are only the players we have protected. It doesnt mean we cant go outside of the squad. It just means no other teams can take those players. Victoria Brown has taken a year off from cricket so that has opened up a place in our team. I'm guess the new names would be Tessa Hickson (she...

does anyone every consider that it might not be the coach that is the problem. He is not the only selector in the team. So you cant just say it his fault that fulton not in. It is one thing someone not performing, it is another finding someine who can do a better job. you cant just give them 3...

I dont think you will see Wellington changing there side in a hurry at all. The simple fact is that they are too good for the Canterbury bowlers and until a bowling attack get on top of them then nothing will change

so you are saying wellington who have just scored 500 odd runs in the first innings should bring another batter in?

    ***Official*** Australia in New Zealand

I disagree to a certain extent. Cricket is 99% mental. especially at that level. So it is about confidence. you gain that by hitting the ball in the middle of the bat and feeling good about it. That is what you do throwdowns for. However i do agree that a net has to be done occasionally just to...

    *Official* NZ Domestic Season

so your saying that you should make Ryder the batter an allrounder so that you can drop another alrounder to make way for a batter. Make great sense. I will think you will find you have exactly the same make up of the team. 4 day cricket is all about taking 20 wickets. if you cant do that then...

What do you class as consistently.... 2 days into a season dont you think that a bit harsh? especially since in preseason games they have done really well with the bat. Just looked up some more stuff on Orchard. He batted at number 3 for most of last year. not somewhere you would bat a bowling...
