    They've actually picked bats on county form for the first time in a while rather than potential. Which is what a lot of people have called for for a while. If we have a train wreck winter we can safely assume the reddit/cw hivemind doesn't know what it's doing either.

    That's the interpretation. The problem is the law itself just says any "completed run" but doesn't say when the ball should be dead. In normal circumstances the ball doesn't go dead until it hits the rope does it? So unless they have specifically said we rewind the clock so the ball effectively...

    He's not getting dropped. Bairstow if he comes in will have to play as a batsman and if he sulks about it as he did in the summer then tough. If the pitch at Kandy looks like it's going to rag they will pick the same team i would expect. If it looks more seamer friendly they may replace Rashid...

    Foakes showed himself a much more natural keeper today as well. Bairstow is gonna have to stop being a prat about keeping the gloves. God knows how they're going to line up assuming he comes back in. (Which he doesn't really on batting form unless you bin Jennings and have him open)

    Roy is the sort of pick that Smith is going for. Thing is it continually being implied that Jennings is a lock for Sri Lanka "because he can play spin" It's not true. He's just marginally less **** at it than facing fast bowling. Today's dismissal was terrible.
