its become really tough to feel optimistic about nzc for a while now, personally i had fell in love with em again when baz came in but its become so dull and mundane under stead/kane or stead/southee....just so many wrong selections and missing the boat with youth....never listening to the nz...

In all seriousness, I expect this nz side from 2014-ish to now to be good enough at winning away tests anywhere and also the world cups. They're definitely good enough. Just sense from their words and body language that the staff, players don't actually believe that themselves and are quite ok...

Sears and O-rourke showing what they can do this season. Ready for intl cricket. We know what henry and jamieson can do, they are quality. Time for southee to go as well so the soultner days come to an end. Only makes me curious about what fisher, shipley and foulkes could do.

yeah good point, also remember him being pretty poor in tests from mid 2015 to end of 2016, and i remember us facing aussies twice (home and away), india away, eng and sa away in that period....kinda just defines him really....didn't kick on at the biggest/toughest of stages

on that note, for the 100 with kane the phrase that comes to mind automatically is "one of our best ever" ....although in 2015-ish my expectation was more along the lines of "our best ever" sadly after 2018 his performances against the the big teams (especially away) have dipped, felt he was...

btw...its been a 100 tests of tim southee, so how do we feel about his legacy? for me the first phrase that comes to mind with him is "always blowing hot and cold" ....unfortunately
