    *Official* Australia in India 2023

Reminded me of England collectively deciding to pull Ishant into the fielder's hands at Lords 2014.

Rank, in terms of personal importance, the value of these triumphs for your team?

Away in England Away in SA Away in Australia ODI WC Rest We don't play Pakistan otherwise that would be tops.

Australia Refused to play against Afghanistan in March 2023

Rashid Khan did speak up when women were banned from learning and I can understand their frustration. But can't really blame Australia when any money raised through this series probably helps Taliban.

An interesting article on the dismissal's history

Not all advantages are going to result in a team winning. Otherwise every time a team has a catch dropped when they are batting, they should win the match. A very weird argument. Fractions of a second matter in many run outs and saying it is just a tiny fraction so should be ignored doesn't...

If you say such a start doesn't matter when players get run out by inches pretty much every match, then there is no point in continuing this discussion.

Dude. What sort of an argument is this? Also look at the picture I posted. The bowler has not released the ball yet and she is more than a foot outside the crease.

The player in question did it 72 times in this one innings. How do you stop someone from doing that? This is the only option available right now and the Indian team went with it correctly.

Stops batsmen taking undue advantage. A 2ft start does make it easier to complete runs that would not be possible otherwise.

The only reason for not supporting Mankading seems to be ohh we don't do such things here. Every other excuse just doesn't stand up to any scrutiny.

Check out who was watching the non-striker taking advantage!!

Edges to the boundaries require no skill too. But the batsman still gets 4 for it. Mankad is just punishing a player who doesn't play by the rules. Also this was what was happening when the bowler actually did bowl. And regarding traditional attitude, not everything that is traditional is good...

I am guessing you will be ok with Ash's suggestion of having a dot ball followed by a free hit for the bowler when the third umpire detects it. But what do we do in the meanwhile when the MCC wants people to effect a run out. Just give the batsmen a free run? I say keep running the non-striker...

So a counter question. Why are you fine with a batsman getting a 2 ft advantage when looking for quick runs? Do you think it is completely fine for a batsman to do it without any consequence?

I had responded earlier to this. Posting it again here. I saw someone post on twitter that most Indians start playing cricket through gully cricket and other equivalents which are pretty cut throat. So these sort of things are pretty much considered par for the course. Maybe that explains why...

I would like it if they implement what Ash suggested. But MCC seems to be doubling down on runouts and when that is the case we should stop insulting players who play by the rules.

How did you get that from my comment? Some people acting holier than thou while doing other acts that are even worse just shows that "spirit of the game" is something that is completely made up and exists only where it is convenient. Where do you get this 99.9% from? Considering that most...

Every time it is done, so many people come out to criticize it and act as if the player lacks morals. Not every player has the mental strength to take such comments.

I can't seem to find the pic, but there is a pic of the Indian team when the decision is being referred and none of them look sheepish. They were celebrating it happily.
