    South Africa team selection

Look at Coetzee's performance this red ball season and overall compared to swaenpool. Both are young and playing in div 1 this season. Coetzee's selection has obviously worked out, but it's a massive slap in the face to a guy who on domestic performance deserved the chance first. Just from that...

AUS couldn't beat SL away last year and there a better touring team right now then NZ. Bang also nearly beat am India with PANT in bang earlier in the year. If Shakib is still around when NZ tour neither series will be easy.

    South Africa team selection

Can understand the frustration. If I was someone like swaenpool who was the leading wicket takers in div I while also dominating the List A cup and didn't even get into a squad in the international home season ide be pissed. Same with verryene being SA'as best bat in Aus and getting dropped.

Maxwell's has been out best ODI bat in the past 2-3 years, no way we drop him. Also don't get why people still want to shuffle smith around the order in ODI'S. We tried this last WC and over his entire career and it doesn't work. He's the best ODI #3 in the world bar Kohli and Babar and dogdicks...

Green, Warner, Usman, smith, Pucovski, Hughes all jump to mind. Cummins was picked young, haze was 23 on debut, Pattinson was 21, starc was 22/23.

Ehh, nicholls averages 36 overall in the PS and in the mid 70's for the NZ A team doesn't he and was bought into the setup in his mid 20's. I don't know blundell's PS numbers but I'm pretty sure before he got bought into the setup in his late 20's in that 2017 period he wasn't averaging much...

Sri lanka have quietly built some pretty solid batting depth haven't they? Matthews, DDS, karunarantna, chandimal and mendis are all varying shades of test class and they have a few young guys like nissanka, nishan and kamindu mendis who have torn up FC cricket and shown promise in the few tests...

Shaun marsh was always a domestic gun tbf. Even given his recent PS form tickner's overall FC record leaves ALOT to be desired. I'de compare him more to pre glamorgan marnus if anything.

Nz have made a bit of a habit of picking older more experienced guys with decent overall records but very good recent form and turning them into test quality cricketers haven't they? Mitchell, blundell, nicholls, even bracewell spring to mind. CDG was also a case of it. I don't agree with the...

Seen the duality of tickner in the past few overs. Spent an over bowling short and wide crap that got cut away and went for runs and now puts it on a decent L&L and makes a set DDS look like a club batsmen.

Marsh the ODI cricketer is frustrating in general cause I don't know how he actually fits into a full strength side. He's still a genuine wicket taking option but his recent injuries mean he's only realistically able to provide a part timers workload and I don't like the idea of 4 specialist...

Warners hard to quantify because he's been in good ODI form but either side of that he had a torrid T20 WC and can't buy runs in test cricket. Ide back Warner over marsh but it's gonna be frustrating if Warner has a bad tourney and marsh is sitting right there.

It's not just young though either. Phillips has done everything right in the PS/County over the past 18 months and the 50 he made on debut in AUS was better then any of the 100's Nicholls has made at home in recent times. Chapman has also done well and deserves the chance. It's particularly...

Yeah I imagine the decks at the WC will either be 350 plays 350+ with some dew involved or more spin friendly.

I mean M bracewell is a part timer, southee and henry aren't the greatest death bowlers going around and get hit in white ball when the ball isn't new, and tickner struggles for L&L alot of the time. Not a massive suprise that an attack like that can leak runs when the ball is a bit older/softer.

Marnus Labuschagne on course to be Australia greatest test match batsman

Marnis labuschagne vs adam voges? Who win? Marnus Labuschagne's ascent to the higher echelons of Test batting was an extraordinary tale of making the most of an unexpected opportunity. During the Lord's Ashes Test against England in August 2019, Steven Smith was felled by Jofra Archer's...
